Gregg Kallor, composer & pianist
Fresh from their Carnegie Hall debut, pianist and composer Gregg Kallor and mezzo-soprano Adriana Zabala present Exhilaration, a program featuring Mr. Kallor’s song cycle of nine settings of poems of Emily Dickinson. The concert will also include several settings of the works of poets whom Dickinson admired.
Adriana Zabala was recently hailed as a “vivid, fearless presence” by the New York Times and as “extraordinary” by the L.A. Times. In The New York
Concert Review Harris Goldsmith praises Mr. Kallor’s Dickinson Cycle, Exhilaration, and says that it was “magnificently sung” by Ms. Zabala.
Goldsmith wrote of Gregg Kallor’s Carnegie debut, “It took but a few impeccably shaped phrases to make it plain that Kallor is a formidably well-trained technician and a master of stylish proportion as well… This superb recital debut truly established a new, important voice in our musical annals. We’ll be hearing a lot more.”
