Silver Rose Award

In 2003, Berkshire Opera established the Silver Rose Award, honoring a special contributor to the opera’s health and longevity. Individuals are submitted annually by private nomination to the General Director and Chair of the Board of Trustees. Nominees have recognized Berkshire Opera’s importance in the contemporary cultural landscape of the Berkshires, supported celebrated artists who have added to opera’s creative legacy, and have been unyielding in their contributions to the opera both personally and monetarily. The recipient of the Silver Rose award excels in their ongoing commitment to Berkshire Opera and is selected by full vote of the Trustees and Staff of Berkshire Opera.

Past recipients of the opera’s most prestigious honor have included:

2003 – Lola Jaffe
2004 – Phyllis Curtin
2005 – Joel Revzen
2006 – Maureen O’Flynn
2007 – Norman M. Michaels
